Dr. Swiontkowski is a professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Since 1997, he has also been the chair and program director of the department. Dr. Swiontkowski has been published in such publications as the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Journal of Bone Joint Surgery, and the Orthopaedic Clinical North America.

Dr. Arendt is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, in the Division of Sports Medicine at the University of Minnesota, and is a faculty advisor for medical students. She is the director of the Sports Medicine Institute at the University and is also an affiliated scholar at the Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sports. Additionally, Dr. Arendt is the medical director for the University Orthopaedic Clinic in Minneapolis. She has worked for Team USA Soccer as a team physician since 1996.

Dr. Clohisy is a professor of orthopaedic surgery and a member of the University of Minnesota's Cancer Center. His specialty is musculoskeletal oncology with a focus on both primary and metastatic cancers of bone and the management of musculoskeletal problems in hemophilia. His clinical research focuses on the effect of surgical treatment of skeletal metastasis on health status, and he has also researched the cellular mechanisms of tumor osteolysis.

Dr. Garvey, associate professor, has been the medical director of the Low Back Center at the University of Minnesota since 1990. Dr. Garvey is an attending physician at the Twin Cities Spine Center and is the vice chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He is also a consulting staff member at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Garvey's special clinical area is orthopaedic spine surgery.

Dr. Putnam, associate professor, is the director in the Division of Hand Surgery. Dr. Putnam's clinical area involves hand, upper extremity, and trauma, including microsurgical reconstruction. His research involves biomechanics of fracture fixation, rehabilitation, and joint stiffness. Dr. Putnam is also an expert on graduate training opportunities.

Dr. Van Heest, associate professor, specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. Her academic interests include neuromuscular
