Study Completion Reporting
University of Minnesota Study Closeout Resources
UMN Ortho Publication and Presentation Tracking
Use this Google form to share your publication or presentation accomplishments with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This form allows users to report their accomplishments so that they can be accurately added to CVs and included in department-wide publication and presentation tallys.
University of Minnesota IRB Final Closeout
Researchers are required to submit final closeout reports when a study is permanently closed to enrollment, participants have completed all research activities, and the collection and primary analysis (as defined in the protocol and approved by the IRB) of identifiable information is complete. To close a study with the IRB, complete the continuing review SmartForm in ETHOS and attach all requested supplements. For more information, see the study closeout section in the IRB Investigator Manual.
UMN Sponsored Projects Administration Study Close Out
The final steps in closing an account are extremely important for complete recovery of costs. The University of Minnesota Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) can help with award closeout. This process is a collaboration between Sponsored Financial Reporting (SFR) and the academic department. SFR has created a useful checklist to help with the study closeout process, and can also help with subaward closeout.
Additional resources on study completion reporting can be found through the CTSI research toolkit.
